Verona Opera Packages
"Thank you for organizing our holiday in Verona. Just to let you know everything was perfect. From the moment we were picked up from the airport in Verona, it all went efficiently and smoothly. The Academia hotel was an excellent choice as it was only minutes from the arena and central for everything else. The opera was superb and we had the best seats in the house. If I had to select my seats I would have chosen the ones we were given. Verona pass - what a great idea we visited so many amazing places free with pass and bus travel included made the break. We would thoroughly recommend the trip to Isola del Garda, such a beautiful island and our guide did a really good job showing us round the beautiful house and gardens. Even the weather was brilliant."
The open-air Arena di Verona is something not to be missed and features a selection of classic operas including Aida.
For anyone with a love for opera the seating is very important. Our trips are based on the Gold Central Stall seating, which is the best in the arena and the highest classification. The Gold Central Stall are near the front, but far enough back to be able to take in the whole stage. The seats themselves are plastic seats to accommodate the outdoor environment, with a cushion for your comfort.
To help you celebrate your special occasion the Verona trips include private airport transfers so there is no hanging around waiting for others, and a Verona Pass Card which provides free access to many of the local sites. We would particularly recommend the Scaligieri Castle and The National History Museum.
We also have a variety of fantastic 4 and 5 star hotels located only minutes away from the arena, so all well within walking distance. Our particular favourites are Hotel Firenze and Hotel Accademia. For those wanting to upgrade to 5 star, Il Sogno di Giulietta is the perfect option being the most romantic relais in the world.
For those wanting to leave the city for a few hours for a welcome change of pace, there is nothing more relaxing than a day on Lake Garda visiting Garda Island. Follow this with exploring the old castle fort town of Sirmione for a delightful lunch on the lake, and perfect for a good souvenir shop.
The Verona Opera season runs from mid June to end August.
Delight in the beautiful ambiance which sees the fireflies materialise as the evening draws in and the opera reaches its finale.
The acoustics in the Verona Opera Arena have been maximised to ensure no matter the seating, all sound is heard with crystal clarity, despite the fact it was built for the gladiators not singers!
Aida was the first premiered opera performance in 1913, and as a result has been the one opera that is always on the schedule, heralding the majority of performances.
The Verona Opera Arena is located in the middle of the main town of Verona and has something for everyone within walking distance. This includes fantastic traditional dining, boutique shops and market, the historical Scalighieri Castle with views from the battlements over the river, a plethora of churches and cathedral, and several wonderful museums. There is of course also the Arena Shop where the opera score can be purchased, as well as Juliet’s Balcony and House for lovers to visit.Accommodation
With so many Verona activities within walking distance of each other and the Verona Opera, a central hotel is a necessity, as you can wander out in search of food or activity to suit yourself. We focus mainly on four star hotels, and these include the wonderfully traditional Hotel Accademia, modernised Hotel Firenze in easy reach of the train station for those transferring to Venice, Florence and other cities, Hotel Antica Porta for those wanting a hotel with spa and small indoor pool, Hotel San Marco for those wanting an outdoor pool (as this is a little bit further out, there is a private shuttle bus to the Arena for the Verona Opera).
We also cater for 5 star tastes for those celebrating a special occasion. These include the newly refurbished and refined Hotel Gentlemen of Verona, Palazzo Victoria situated nearest the Verona opera Arena, and Il Sogno di Giulietta in the same building as Juliet’s iconic balcony.Holiday Combinations for Opera Trips
Verona is well located to offer several nights in scenic Lake Garda within a short distance away, or by First Class train to the romantic city of Venice.
For those wanting to witness two wonderful events, the Siena Palio Race is a must as combining the historical Sienese race with the Verona opera, is hard to beat. Extend your trip by a few days to take in Renaissance Florence on the way home.
However, Verona also works well for those wanting to extend their opera experience to feature the fantastic La Scala Opera House in Milan and/or the equally magnificent La Fenice in Venice. We even have a specific break Opera Trio
which combines the Venice Opera, Verona Opera and Milan Opera into one trip.
All of these destinations are within easy reach of Verona. This break can be done in 3-4 days, or combined with other destinations to extend to 10-11 days, and be tailormade to your requirements.
