Verona Opera Holiday with Lake Garda

Once in a while a break comes along which ticks all the boxes. Our Verona Opera and Lake Garda break does just that! If you are looking at booking a Verona opera holiday, why not extend your trip by a few nights and spend this at Lake Garda?

Verona is a fantastic city with a wealth of great sights to visit, including the open-air arena of the summer opera, Juliet’s house and balcony, a castle with battlements you can walk along, and the expected museums and churches to match. But in summer with the humidity, Verona can be very hot.

Our combined break has you staying several nights in Verona, having one top level seating (Gold Central Stall) at the opera, a Verona Pass card which lets you choose which of the sights you want to see in the daytime, most of which are free, along with then having two nights staying on Lake Garda. This is perfect for some unwinding, sitting around a pool, or further exploring away from the heat of the city.

For those wanting to still explore the region, there are the usual gift shops for souvenirs, wine tastings, Byblos spa, and our favourite; a tour of Garda Island. Garda Island is a must if you are staying on the lake for any amount of time, as departures are usually most days of the week and either outside your hotel or no more than a ten minute taxi ride away. On the island you get to experience the beautiful landscaped gardens, a tour of the house and local wine and snacks from the current family who inhabit the island. You will not want to leave!

Another perk to leaving the city for a few days is avoiding the crowds. Whilst a trip to Sirmione at the base of Lake Garda is well worth a visit, this is probably the only time you will experience the crowds again on the lake.

The hotels we have chosen are all in good locations for enjoying the views across the lake, as well as having a few options for during the day. If you did want to go further afield, the hotels can recommend and book most excursions for you including a bike ride around the lake, or a fantastic special dinner in their own restaurant.

A Verona opera holiday with Lake Garda included is sure to give you culture and relaxation time!

About Hannah Netting

Hannah has had the travel bug from an early age where she was fortunate enough to travel widely, including a four month trip around the world. For her experiencing new cultures, sights and wonders was very important.

Lately her focus has been heavily on Italy enhanced by many wonderful trips including Verona, Venice, Top to Toe, Florence, amongst many others. In Venice she got lost in true Venetian style and got to experience the amazing acoustics of the Verona Arena. Currently Florence is her favourite, but this can always change! With plenty on offer in Italy, it will keep her entertained for many more trips to come!
