Hotel Focus – Hotel Accademia, Verona

The Verona opera is the perfect reason to head to Italy this summer for some much needed culture and relaxation, however, with so many city centre hotels only minutes from the opera arena, which one do you choose to stay in?

Whilst there is quite a choice, one of my favourite 4 star hotels is Hotel Accademia. Conveniently located three streets behind the Arena, this hotel is an easy 3 minutes walk to the opera, but is also ideally situated for the shops, as it is housed in one of the main shopping streets. This has the added bonus of making this hotel quiet at night as the crowds depart once the shops close. The last fantastic feature is that cars are not allowed around the arena, meaning barring taxis, the only noise is cyclists and pedestrians. Great for if you want to get some fresh air at night!

Hotel Accademia has one main advantage over many of its rivals – it has its own restaurant. Being centrally located, most of the hotels have a breakfast bar and then you are free to wander out for lunch and dinner, however, Hotel Accademia has a mandatory pre opera dinner booked in for the night of your Verona opera, so you are wined and dined in style to get you in the mood for the opera.

The hotel offers two meal options for this evening – you can either enjoy the buffet or choose something from their mouth-watering a la carte menu in their main restaurant. To get you started we have put in 25 euros per person, so how much or little you spend above this is up to you.

With nothing but wonderful, glowing feedback from 10 years of our guests staying at this hotel, how could you not enrich your Verona opera break with a stay here?

About Hannah Netting

Hannah has had the travel bug from an early age where she was fortunate enough to travel widely, including a four month trip around the world. For her experiencing new cultures, sights and wonders was very important.

Lately her focus has been heavily on Italy enhanced by many wonderful trips including Verona, Venice, Top to Toe, Florence, amongst many others. In Venice she got lost in true Venetian style and got to experience the amazing acoustics of the Verona Arena. Currently Florence is her favourite, but this can always change! With plenty on offer in Italy, it will keep her entertained for many more trips to come!
