Firenze Pass Card – Florence holiday

Having decided to have a Florence holiday, you have booked your flights and your hotel, but are now buried in city guides all recommending what you should do with your time. There are several problems with this; first of all there is too much to recommend unless you are staying in the city for a month! The second is that some of these can cost and maybe you decide a gallery etc is not for you, but having paid on the door, you want to get your money’s worth. The last is how much time will you actually have inside after queuing in impossibly long summer queues?

The answer to this is a Firenze Pass Card. This 3 day pass card costs 72 euros (around £50), and provides free access to most of the local sites, including the Palazzo Vecchio Museum, the Medici Chapels, the Uffizi and Accademia Galleries, the Boboli Gardens and Santa Croce Church, amongst many others. However, this is more than just a free access card; under 18 years old get in for free when at least one person in the family have a card too. If you need more convincing, long queues will not be a blight on your Florence holiday as the card provides priority access with a Pass Holder’s Line, so you can feel like a VIP strolling past the line of hot tourists! This ensures you make the most of your time.

Along with these great perks, free public transport on buses and the tram are included, which again saves you time travelling between the sights, and whilst doing this you have exclusive access to the Firenze Wifi network – how many cities provide that! Lastly, for those tech-savvy amongst you, there is a dedicated “FirenzeCard” app for both Apple ios and Android users which provides more access on the sights, and general travel information.

This card provides a practical, economical use of your time seeing the city known for the Renaissance, how you want to see it, to your time frame. This can be purchased locally from most of the main sights in Florence, however, Italian Short Breaks automatically include this for all of our clients. Now with this worry out of the way and your days planned, you just need to pack!

About Hannah Netting

Hannah has had the travel bug from an early age where she was fortunate enough to travel widely, including a four month trip around the world. For her experiencing new cultures, sights and wonders was very important.

Lately her focus has been heavily on Italy enhanced by many wonderful trips including Verona, Venice, Top to Toe, Florence, amongst many others. In Venice she got lost in true Venetian style and got to experience the amazing acoustics of the Verona Arena. Currently Florence is her favourite, but this can always change! With plenty on offer in Italy, it will keep her entertained for many more trips to come!
